Thanks for being here on the Momentum podcast. If you've followed this podcast for a while, then you heard my update a while ago that I took some time off. I cut down the size of our team. I wanted to get really focused on what I wanted to do and if I even wanted to continue doing what I've been doing. And get really clear on what this next stage of my business, and let's get real, my life is going to look like. And so in this podcast, I want to give you a thorough update of what happened since my semi sabbatical and some of the decisions we've made and some of the conclusions I've come to. I'm excited to share this with you.

I'm Alex Charfen and this is the Momentum podcast. Made for empire uilders, game changers, trailblazers, shot takers, record breakers, world makers and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can't turn it off and don't know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum so we can roll over bureaucracy and make our greatest contribution. Sure, we pay attention to their rules, but only so that we can bend them, break them, then rewrite them around our own will. We don't accept our destiny. We define it. We don't understand defeat because you only lose if you stop and we don't know how. While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, we are the minority, the few who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. And instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters, clearly the most important people in the world. Because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution. And we always will be.

Like I said in the introduction, if you're a podcast listener, you probably heard one of... Not a podcast listener. If you're a listener of this podcast, you've probably heard the podcast where I gave a company update where I had reduced the size of our team, really reduced a lot of noise because I wanted to get clear on what I wanted to do. I also wanted to spend more time with our members, more time with our clients. I wanted to be able to be more up close and personal, seeing what was going on and see if I could figure out what I want to do with this and what direction I wanted to go. And I have some exciting updates for you. So first, let's start with this message that my sabbatical period a while ago, I reduced the size of our team. I wanted to give myself more time. I wanted to take a bit of a break and see what I wanted to do, and there was kind of an ironic outcome to that. I remember after a few months going to Cadey and saying, "Cadey, I think I just need to continue doing what I'm doing because what I've realized is I'm coaching three or four of our friends on the side. I'm helping them with the systems and the process and the structure to grow their business. And I just can't stop doing this." You know, I think if anything, taking some time away indelibly imprinted on me that my mission here in life is at this point in my life is to help visionary entrepreneurs be seen and heard by their teams, to help them work less in their business and achieve the freedom we all got entering into entrepreneurship for while their business grows and scales and they make an even bigger impact and they can actually step into the role of visionaries. And, you know, this is a process that I've been working on my entire life, and for the last 12 years I've been coaching other companies how to do this. And the more that I thought about it, the more that I realized this is what I want to do and this is what I'm fully committed to. And having some time off, having some space, having some spaciousness, just reinforce what I should be doing. And so here's some exciting updates.

We've started to grow our team again. We've actually brought on two incredible new team members, John and Yhennifer. So both of them are selling, both of them are coaching. John's helping us with marketing and Yhennifer is helping us with our community management and our products. And it has been going phenomenally. In fact, over the past several months we have gone through and reshot the entire system that we teach from the ground up. We started over from scratch and said, 'How would we teach this today to make it more effective, more efficient, more applicable to every person that we work with, and how can we get people up and running, having an operations system in their business faster?' Because when your business has an operations system, you go from personality management, which is showing up every day and making sure everything's going in the right direction to process management, to managing a business by process, to managing a business, by having a system in place. And when there's a system that runs the business, you don't have to push everything forward every day as an entrepreneur. You don't have to pull everything forward every day as an entrepreneur. The system helps you manage that process. And so we completely reshot our business and I'm sorry, we reshot our process, reshot the entire sequential content that somebody goes through. And the feedback we've gotten has been incredible.

In fact, from members that have been in our program for over a year, have gone through the new content and they made adjustments to how they're using our systems. They feel like it's a lot clearer. They feel like they're getting a lot more out of it. And that's exactly what I wanted. I want entrepreneurs, especially visionaries and their operators, to have a system that they trust, a process that they trust. Because here's the goal that we have as entrepreneurs running a business. If you're a visionary, then I'm going to make the assumption that part of your goal is you want to be able to have a vision and put something out there and have your team get out in front of you and help you achieve it. And you don't want to be mired in the day to day. You don't want to be micromanaging every person on your team. You don't want to have to do something every single day for the business to grow, because it gets exhausting that transactional management of telling people what to do, checking that it got done, telling them what to do again.

I've run businesses like that, and even though they were successful and even though there was good financial outcomes for me as a person, it was a daily sacrifice to run my business. It was a daily uphill climb and it doesn't have to be that way. We've proven this over and over and over again and with the people going through our content. Now what we're hearing is it's faster to apply, it's faster to get up and running, and it's faster to get to the place where, as a visionary, you trust the process enough that you can start to step away from the day to day. I get the question all the time. In fact, I was just up in a debate in Canada and a very successful entrepreneur asked me, how do I grow my business without feeling like I'm going to bury myself, without feeling like I'm going to lose my life, without feeling like I have to give up my family and give up time with my family, without feeling like I have to give up time for my health. And I told her the only way as visionaries, we will do this, the only way we will step away is if we have ultimate confidence in what's going on. And we will not have confidence unless there is a process that we trust, because we trust people. But we as visionaries, especially if you've been doing this for a while, we know things happen with people. We know there's challenges. We know there's by no fault of their own. Sometimes people just have issues come up in their lives. We've had a few of those in the past few weeks on our team. And when those issues come up and we are in a place where we are exclusively trusting people, we feel like we have to go right back in and fix everything for our team. When we have a process in place, when there is a system that we trust and operation system that we trust, we know that things are going to get done. We know things are going to get done without us having to micromanage and look at every single thing. And that is how you get yourself out of the day to day. By running your system, not by personality, but by sorry, by running your business, not by personality, but by process. And that creates freedom for us as entrepreneurs. And that's really why we're doing this in the first place.

And so this phase in our company has been very exciting. We brought on some incredible new members, and almost immediately, especially with the new content, they've started referring other members. So we have more activity than we've had in months. We are making, I feel like, a faster impact, a bigger impact in a shorter period of time for the people who choose to work with us. And we're seeing visionaries show up to calls and say things like, "I've never felt this comfortable in my business or operators". We just had an operator say something like, "I was just able to take some time off and it's the first time I've been able to take time off without feeling panicked, without feeling like I have to check on everything". And she even went as far as to say, "When I got back to the office, I checked Slack messages and I thought that I would have tons of them and I had three. One of them was telling me to have a good time off and the other two weren't urgent". So the system works.

And when I hear things like that, it is such massive validation for everything that we do. It's validation for the system we put together. It's validation for the concepts that we have. It's validation for the installation of an operating system in a business as a way to create spaciousness and growth without panic and overwhelm. And so it has been extraordinary. You feel like you're constantly getting back in the weeds, back at the tactical level. You feel like if you're not looking for all the mistakes and finding them that nobody ever will. You feel like you have to solve for your team and be there for your team all the time or else something is going to stop and things won't get done.
